Movember in the Office

Here at KingsRock Construction, we are proud to support the T Levels scheme, a fantastic programme that provides practical industry experience to young people as an alternative to A Levels and apprenticeships.

What is a T Level?

T Levels are a new post-GCSE qualification equivalent to three A Levels. They offer students an alternative route to A Levels, apprenticeships, and other courses for 16-19-year-olds.

This fantastic programme combines classroom learning with practical workplace experience. Students spend 80% of their time learning vocational skills in an educational environment and 20% completing an industry placement with a local employer. As part of their T Levels, students dedicate one day a week (or 316 hours per year) to industry placements while continuing their studies at college.

Upon completion, T Levels can lead to skilled employment, higher education, or apprenticeships, providing young people with a strong foundation for their future careers. Some students even go on to pursue degree apprenticeships, training with employers while studying part-time at university.

We believe T Levels are an excellent way for students to gain practical, hands-on experience that gives them a real insight into the workplace and sets them up for success.

How we’re helping out

Will is a T Level student who has joined us as part of the industry placement component of his qualification through East Sussex Coast College in Hastings & Eastbourne. He spends one to days days a week with us, gaining valuable on-the-job insights into the construction industry. Will has a passion for construction and is keen to pursue a career in the built environment. His ambition is to become a Quantity Surveyor, inspired by his with fascination with sustainability and the ability to make a difference.

At KingsRock Construction, we are committed to making Will’s experience engaging and inspiring. Through site visits, mentoring, and hands-on learning opportunities, we aim to provide him with the skills and confidence to thrive in the industry.

He is already in conversations with Brighton University to complete his Quantity Degree We are proud to play a part in nurturing the next generation of construction professionals and look forward to seeing all that Will will achieve in his career!
